Prerequisites

This patch is cumulative and includes all fixes delivered in Backup Exec 25.1 update 648897 and 661496..
- Administrative privileges are required to install this On-Demand Patch.

To confirm your current version of Backup Exec, click on the Backup Exec icon (top left in the Backup Exec console) -> Help and Documentation -> About Backup Exec.

Managed Backup Exec Servers: To install the hotfix on a Managed Backup Exec Server, ensure it is patched on the Central Administration Server first, and only then apply the patch on the Managed Backup Exec Server.
Post-requisites

A full backup is recommended after installing this On-Demand Patch.

Remote Agent for Windows Servers will need to be updated.

Remote Agent for Linux/Unix Servers (RALUS/RAMS) will need to be updated.

Update Simplified Disaster Recovery Media.

It is recommended to reboot the system(s) after applying an On-Demand Patch or Feature Pack.

- This hotfix must be installed over Backup Exec 25.1
Important File Security Requirement:
Windows may automatically block files downloaded from the web. You must unblock the .zip archive before extracting it. Right-click the .zip file, open Properties, check Unblock at the bottom of the General tab, and click Apply.
Installation Process:
- Download patch file BE1193.1460R841033_x64bit.zip from the licensing portal.
- Unblock the .zip file properties, then extract the contents to a local directory.
- Log on to the Backup Exec server as a local Administrator and close all active jobs.
- Run BE1193.1460R841033_x64bit.exe and follow the on-screen prompts. Backup Exec services will restart automatically.
- Verify installation by navigating to the Backup Exec icon (top left in the Backup Exec console) -> Help and Documentation -> About Backup Exec. to confirm (version 25.0.1193.1460) is listed.
