Cause

The computer having a lack of sufficient resources can cause poor performance during backups.

 

Resolution

To manually adjust the backup performance for each job, do one of the following:

■ To improve the performance of the computer during a backup, drag the Performance slider toward the Slow end.

■ To allow the backup to complete quickly, drag the Performance slider to Fast.

To automate the process for all jobs depending upon the computer performance, customers can choose the setting in global settings.

In Veritas System Recovery 23 console, go to  Tasks | Options | Performance. Adjust the slider to the required range.

 

Issue/Introduction

Depending on the computer's speed, the amount of installed RAM, and the number of programs running during a backup can cause the computer to become sluggish.
