BSOD - "System thread Exception not handled."
Cause
The root cause of this issue is the use of the typical method to create the System Recovery Disk (SRD). The typical method does not provide the necessary components to successfully boot up the recovery media on the target system.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, it is recommended to create the SRD using the advanced method. Follow the steps below:
- Download and install Windows ADK and Windows PE add-on for the Windows ADK. (Refer to 100066488)
- Launch the Veritas System Recovery console on the VSR server.
- Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Create Recovery Disk."
- In the Recovery Disk Creation Wizard, choose the "Advanced" method.
- Select the appropriate options for the recovery disk creation, such as the target operating system and drivers.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the creation of the advanced SRD.
- Once the advanced SRD is created, use it for the system recovery process.
By using the advanced method to create the SRD, all the necessary components and drivers specific to the target system will be included, ensuring a successful boot-up and recovery process.
