   • Complete the installation wizard

2. Reinstall the Backup Exec Active Directory Recovery Agent:

   • Obtain Backup Exec installation media for the currently installed version of Backup Exec. The install media may be required to re-install the Agent for VMware and Hyper-V or Agent for Applications and Databases options.
   • Open the Control Panel on the affected Backup Exec media server.
   • Navigate to "Programs" or "Programs and Features."
   • Locate the Veritas Backup Exec in the list of installed programs.
   • Right-click on it and select "Change."
   • Follow the on-screen prompts to the "Select Features to install" section of the installation wizard.
   • Check, Enable, Install either of these agent options:  Agent for VMware and Hyper-V or Agent for Applications and Databases.  Both require the use of the VFF filter driver.
   • Complete the installation wizard

3. If the Backup jobs targets are Backup to Disk that is located on a remote UNC path or NAS,  Reboot the remote server or NAS hosting the Backup to Disk location. Update Firmware on NAS devices hosting Backup to Disk locations.

4. Retry the backup job:

   • Run the backup job again to verify if the issue has been resolved.
   • Monitor the backup job progress and check for any new error messages.
