Cause

Install process issue with the Backup Exec 22.2 installer.

Resolution

Workaround:

Use a two-step process for the upgrade. First upgrade to Backup Exec 22.0 or 22.1, then upgrade to Backup Exec 22.2

Solution:

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 23

Issue/Introduction

When the Backup Exec Database (BEDB) is hosted on a remote, default instance of SQL server, and an attempt is made to upgrade Backup Exec version 21.4 to 22.2, the upgrade/installation will fail and roll back.
