V-79-57344-38721 - One or more virtual disk images could not be loaded:

Cause

Duplicate copies of Full and Differential or Incremental should be encrypted with the same key.
If the full set duplicate copy is encrypted but the Differential set duplicate copy is not encrypted, a GRT restore from Differential set will fail with the above error.

Resolution

Edit the Backup Job definition and set the encryption key for the duplicate stages, which are to be encrypted.

It is recommended to encrypt both or not encrypt both the Full and Differential/Incremental copies for Virtual Machine GRT restore to work.

If a full duplicate tape copy is encrypted and a differential or incremental duplicate tape copy is not encrypted, then granular restore from differential tape copy fails with "0xe0000f0c - An error occurred while attempting to initialize the encryption for the job" error.

Workaround:

Restore from Disk backup set.

OR

Duplicate the full tape copy and differential/Incremental tape copy to disk storage and then restore from the differential/Incremental disk set.

Issue/Introduction
