Unable to run setup.exe . Another instance is running.

Cause

Installation is failing due to another instance/setup running on the server.

 

Resolution

  1. Check in the WIndows task manager for any running process with the name SETUP.EXE or _SETUP.exe.

  1. End Task for the process through Windows task manager.
  2. Run the Backup Exec Remote Agent setup again to complete the installation.
