Error Message

Job Log reports :

"0xe00084ca - The data being read from the media is inconsistent."
"0xe00084f9 - A communications failure has occurred between the Backup Exec job engine and the Agent for Windows"

Debug log shows :

BENGINE:  [11/08/23 10:03:44] [7156]  [tpfmt]  - F40_ParseWrittenBuffer: Not a stream header or a block header.  Setting result to 0xe00084ca.

This issue happens only when the last entry's length is zero in a change extents XML.
Example -  VMName_C.vhdx.metadata.xml) shows

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 24

Hyper-V differential or Incremental backup set duplicate to tape from disk may fail with "0xe00084ca" or "0xe00084f9" error.
