To resolve the error E4F30168 when using VSR for backups, follow these steps: confirm writer stability, check VSS providers, create new scheduled backups, run fixinstall for VSR, and verify successful backups.
  1. Run the command 'vssadmin list providers' and check if 'Microsoft File Share Shadow Copy provider' and 'Microsoft Software Shadow Copy provider 1.0' are listed.
  2. Run the command 'vssadmin list writers', and check if "State:" is "Stable" and "Last error:" is "No error".  If any errors are found, reboot the OS.
  3. Open the command prompt and navigate to the installation location of VSR.
  4. Run the 'fixinstall' command for VSR.
  5. Verify that the backups are completed successfully.
