Backup jobs may intermittently hang.
Cause
This issue may be observed due to resource contention on the Backup Exec server.
Resolution
Since the issue is due to resource contention, the following tuning can be done :
1. Reduce stream count in the backup job.
2. Increase the RAM and CPU of the Backup Exec server.
3. Free up some space on the volume where Backup Exec is installed.
4. If the backup job still hangs or the failure continues, then reduce the stream count to 1.
