Drivers for the following controllers cannot be found on the restored computer.

 

Cause

Attempting to restore a server from a workstation backup.

 

Resolution

To resolve the issue of the storage controller driver failing to install during Simplified Disaster Recovery on dissimilar hardware, change the BIOS setting from 'RAID' to 'AHCI'.
  1. Restart the Server
  2. During the boot process, enter the BIOS settings by pressing the designated key (usually F2 or Del).
  3. Navigate to the 'Storage' or 'SATA Configuration' section in the BIOS.
  4. Locate the 'RAID' or 'Storage Configuration' option and select it.
  5. Change the setting from 'RAID' to 'AHCI'.
  6. Save the changes and exit the BIOS.
  7. Proceed with the Simplified Disaster Recovery process again.
  8. The storage controller driver should now be able to install successfully.
  9. Continue with the restoration process as usual.
