Cause

This issue occurs when CAS and MBES network connection is disconnected or a slow WAN/LAN link. The job must find  media to mount before starting it operation. During this phase, the MBES server performs SQL queries  against the storage and media database on the CAS server. The job stays in a loading media state. queued, or Active Queued state and never progress any further.

Resolution

  1. Check if the storage is configured with CASO or MBES
  2. Enable communication between CASO and MBES
  3. Refer to the "Best practices for Backup Exec Central Admin Server Option" section in the Backup Exec Admin Guide.

Issue/Introduction

Unable to Restore from a Managed Backup Exec Server (MBES) when the network connection to the Central Admin Server (CAS) is disconnected. Backup, Restore, and Catalog jobs submitted on the MBES server may go to an "Active - Queued" state when the MBES server is unable to communicate with the CAS server over the network due to network disconnection or slow LAN/WAN link.
