Error Message

Backup Exec Console reports the following message.

The server was unable to complete the requested operation.
Unknown reason: 1726
BEMSDK failure code: 000006BE

Backup Exec SGMON Log (see Related Articles below) reports the following error message:

The issue is seen when an older version of the Dell EMC Data Domain Plug-in is installed on the Backup Exec server. (Plugin versions 3.4, 3.5 are installed on the Backup Exec Server) 

1. Stop the Backup Exec services on the Backup Exec server.

2. Uninstall the old Dell EMC Data Domain Plug-in from the Backup Exec server and install the latest supported version of the OST Plugin referenced in the Backup Exec Hardware Compatibility List (see Related Articles below). See the Backup Exec sections in the DataDomain OST Admin guide for installation and configuration details.

3. Start the Backup Exec services and perform the Data Domain Storage Configuration.
