SMTP Notifications are received multiple times for the same client backup

Cause

This appears to be due to the DLO client machine either not able to update the main DLO database or not able to update the local Stats.db file, following a successful backup.
The client will continue to send the same update, every 15 minutes, while waiting for an acknowledgment.

 

Resolution


There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. While this issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, it is not currently scheduled for any release.  If you feel this issue has a direct business impact for you and your continued use of the product, please contact your Veritas Sales representative or the Veritas Sales group to discuss these concerns.
 
Note: Customers experiencing this issue are encouraged to contact Veritas Technical Support as data is still being collected to assist in resolving this issue.

 

Issue/Introduction

The DLO server is sending multiple SMTP Notifications for the same backup and same client machine. i.e. '100% Backup successfully completed on yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss' is reported numerous times for the same client nachine and same completion date\time.
