BESERVER: [12244] 51 STSOBJECT: STS ERROR: session (-1479433052): 'libsts openp(): stsm_open_module C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\libstspipd.dll failed err 2060053 platerr 126: LoadLibrary failed'

Cause

The Issue occurs when deduplication feature is installed on Backup Exec 22.1 after upgrade from 21.4. At the time of the upgrade Backup Exec 21.4 did not have Deduplication feature installed. The new deduplication storage fails to configure due to libcmncryptocore.dll file missing from Backup Exec Installation Path.

Resolution

A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related Articles to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.

Backup Exec 22.1 Hotfix 957650

Workaround:

To successfully configure the Deduplication Storage when this problem is seen connect to another server which has Backup Exec 22.1 installed with Deduplication feature. Copy the libcmncryptocore.dll file (present at BE Install Path) from that installation to the one where the deduplication creation problem is seen. Then configure the deduplication storage and it should work.
