Description

Error Message

No error information presented

Cause

If the Custom DUDF is defined to the Root of a volume (i.e. D:\ ), when the DLO Agent is Uninstalled and you respond 'Yes'  to the prompt "Do you want to delete the DLO Agent user data?", all files and folders below that DUDF path will be removed, potentially removing items that are not related to DLO.

Resolution

Ensure that any Custom Desktop User Data Folder (DUDF)  is defined to a Folder on a volume (i.e. D:\Veritas ) and not directly to the Root of the volume (i.e. D:\)
Note - If the Custom DUDF is defined to a folder that does not already exist on the client machine, that folder structure will be created when the new Profile settings are picked up.

In case the Desktop User Data Folder (DUDF) is defined on the root of a volume; when uninstalling the DLO Agent, respond 'No' to the prompt "Do you want to delete the DLO Agent user data?".
After the DLO Agent is uninstalled, remove the DLO related files manually from the volume.

Issue/Introduction

In DLO, a Desktop User Data Folder (DUDF) path must not be defined to the Root of a volume. DLO agents, especially when Dedupe is enabled, will use a Desktop User Data Folder (DUDF) on the client machine, to process Delta files and hold data not yet transferred to the Network Storage.
The default location for that is under the C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Veritas\DLO path of the client machine. It is possible to define a Custom Desktop User Data Folder (DUDF) path, in the DLO Administration Console, for any New Profile (Tools - Options - New Profile Default - General) or against any existing Profile.
