Running uninstallVSR22.bat deletes the context menu items of files for all 3rd-party applications

Error Message

There is no error message, however as shown in the screenshots below, after running either of these bat files, the context menu items will be missing:

Cause

This is caused by running either of the VSR un-installation batch files UninstallVSR21.bat or UninstallVSR22.bat

Resolution

The third-party applications may need to be re-installed (if no repair option is available)

 

Note:
it is always recommended to use Programs and Features to un-install VSR; the batch file should only be used in exceptional circumstances, if for some reason the recommended method does not work.

 

This issue is currently under investigation by Veritas Technologies LLC. Pending the outcome of the investigation, this issue may be resolved by way of a patch or hotfix in current or future revisions of the software.

Issue/Introduction

Running either the UninstallVSR21.bat or UninstallVSR22.bat file deletes the context menu items of files (not directories) for all 3rd-party applications. The recommended way to uninstall VSR is via Program and Features.
By using the recommended way, this issue is not seen.
