Unable to connect to Dedupe server "StoreSmart Dedupe Server Status: (20156) Database connection is down."

 DedupeServer

 Dedupe 'server name' https Server is not reachable

When browsing the dedupe server on port 8443 (https://dedupeserver:8443) the following error is generated:

:

"StoreSmart Dedupe Server Status: (20156) Database connection is down."


Cause

This may occur when the database instance name is incorrect in the context.xml file located in X:\Program Files\Veritas\Dedupe\Tomcat\Meta-Inf      (Where X: = DLO Dedupe installation path)
 

Resolution

Update the correct SQL Instance name in the context.xml file located on the DLO Dedupe Server X:\Program Files\Veritas\Dedupe\Tomcat\Meta-Inf

Restart SQL server service and Mindtree StoreSmart Dedupe service.

 

Note: Make sure to backup the original  context.xml file before making any changes.

Issue/Introduction

While trying to Manage Dedupe Server in Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) console it is throwing an error Database connection is down.
