Cause

The Catalog.dat file in C:\ProgramData\Veritas\FileBackup is corrupt or unreadable by the application.

Resolution

  1. Close Veritas System Recovery console.
  2. Check if the backup data for "File and Folder" is saved in a Network location.
  3. If yes, move them to a local storage and try to perform import again. If it still fails, go to the location C:\ProgramData\Veritas\FileBackup.
  4.  Rename Catalog.dat file to Catalog.old and attempt the restore again (this may require the "Tray Application" process to be terminated first in Task Manager)
  5. Launch Veritas System Recovery console.
  6. Select Tasks -> Recover My Files.
  7. Select File -> Import Backup Destination.

  8. Browse "File Backup Data" folder and click OK.

  9. Press Search.
