"Load Failed. The queried backup sets contain two backup sets with the same ID"

Cause

Corrupt entry for tape media in the Backup Exec Data Base

Resolution

Access the tape media in the storage tab that gives the error "Load Failed. The queried backup sets contain two backup sets with the same ID" when attempting to view the backup sets and follow the steps below.

  1. Retire the tape media that gives the error by right clicking the media and choosing, "Associate with media set".  Chose Retired Media and click OK
  2. Delete the media from retired set by right clicking the Retired Media set under "All Media Sets".  Find the impacted retired media and right click and choose Delete.
  3. Restart the Backup Exec services
  4. Navigate to the media that was deleted in the tape drive, if not a library, or in the slots if in a library and right click it and choose Inventory and Catalog.

 

Issue/Introduction

When viewing tape storage backup sets in the Storage tab, an error will appear "Load Failed. The queried backup sets contain two backup sets with the same ID" and the backup sets do not display. The Backup Set view from the Backup/Restore tab is not affected. The backup sets can be viewed in the restore wizard from the Backup/Restore tab.
