Error Message

Backup Exec crash dump shows the following error -

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at BackupExec.UI.ViewModel.VMvalidationOptionsDialogViewModel.b__e(ResourceViewModel r)
   at System.Linq.Enumerable.WhereEnumerableIterator`1.MoveNext()
   at BackupExec.UI.ViewModel.VMvalidationOptionsDialogViewModel.QueryBackupSets()
   at BackupExec.UI.ViewModel.VMvalidationOptionsDialogViewModel.set_SelectSpecificBackupSetOption(Boolean value)
   at BackupExec.UI.ViewModel.VMvalidationOptionsDialogViewModel..ctor(JobInstanceVMValidationViewModel vmValidationJob)
   at BackupExec.UI.ViewModel.JobViewViewModel.Edit()

Resolution

Workaround - 
Recreate the VM validation job which causes the Backup Exec User Interface to crash.

This issue is currently under investigation by Veritas Technologies LLC. Pending the outcome of the investigation, this issue may be resolved by way of a patch or hotfix in current or future revisions of the software.
