Product version

System Recovery 22 or later

Cause

In general, this error occurs when any processes except System Recovery already established a network connection to a backup destination with the different user from a user that is specified for the backup destination in a backup job. The behavior is by design.

However, the error may occur every time a part of NAS like NetApp CIFS is the backup destination. In case of NetApp CIFS, please try the Solution.

Resolution

To ignore the error "Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user" on System Recovery, please add and modify the below registry value.

Registry Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery
Name: IgnoreMultipleConnection
Type: String
Data: Yes

Then, please restart "Veritas System Recovery" service.
If returning to the default value, set "Data" to "None". "None" does not ignore the error "Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user".
