Error Message

1 or 2 appears after installing System Recovery 21.x.

1. "System Recovery Options" appears after failing to reboot 2 or 3 times.

2. "Windows Boot Manager" screen appears.

Cause

Windows OS cannot verify the digital signature for the driver SSRFsF.sys that was installed by System Recovery installer.

There are the following descriptions in README.

  • Before you install Veritas System Recovery 21 on a Windows 2008 SP2, Small Business Server 2008 SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 2008 R2 SP1, Small Business Server 2011 SP1, Windows 2012, Windows 8, Windows 2012 R2 or Windows 8.1 operating system, ensure that the latest Windows updates are installed.

In addition, the following screen appears while installing System Recovery 21.x.

Resolution

Workaround:

1. Access the below link, and download KB4474419 for Windows 2008 and Windows 2008 R2.

2. While booting from the problematic OS, press [F8] key. The below screen appears.

3. Select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement".

4. After booting from the OS, log on.

5. Apply KB4474419.

6. Reboot.
