Error Message

Writing the configuration failed: Could not set 'VRTSralus' to be started on boot.
 

Cause

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2 or later automatically converts System V init.d scripts to service files. Support for System V init.d scripts is deprecated.
 

Resolution


This Issue is fixed in Backup Exec 22


WORKAROUND:

Start RALUS service manually post reboot
 

 

Issue/Introduction

RALUS (Backup Exec Remote Agent for Linux and UNIX Servers) does not start automatically when installed on a newly installed SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 15 SP2 or later systems.

This issue is not seen when the SLES system is upgraded to version 15 SP2.
