A restore of a virtual machine to a vVOL(Virtual Volume) or vSAN datastore using the VMware Agent may fail with the following error:
Final error: 0xe0009579 - Unable to copy the virtual machine disk using the VMware VixDiskLib.

Cause
The above issue is seen if the restore job has been configured to use the SAN transport mode. vVol and vSAN datastores do not support SAN mode transport.
Resolution
Edit the restore job, uncheck the SAN transport and instead select the nbd/HotAdd modes.
