Resolution

WORKAROUND:

There are other ways to perform restores of Hyper-V data:

1. Use the Backup and Restore tab
Select the Hyper-V server
Launch the Restore Wizard

2. Use the Storage tab; 
Select the Tape Library,
Select Jobs
Select "Restore backup sets created by this job"

3. Use the Storage tab;
Select the Tape Library,
Select Slots,
Select Backup Sets
Launch the restore wizard by right click on the backup set required


There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time.
While this issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, it is not currently scheduled for any release.

Issue/Introduction

Unable to proceed with the restore wizard when Hyper-V data is on the tape and the restore wizard is launched by right clicking the tape and selecting restore.

This issue is not seen for File System or VMWare restores launched this way.
