The following backup jobs are using the Traditional virtual-based backup method. For significantly improved performance, use forever incremental backups to Backup Exec deduplication disk storage.

The above alerts can be disabled by creating the following registry value on the Backup Exec server.

Issue/Introduction

In Backup Exec 21.2, enhancements have been made to the Accelerator/Forever Incremental backup feature of virtual machines. It applies when the Forever Incremental backup solution is targeted to Backup Exec Deduplication Storage. These performance enhancements are applicable to the Consolidate Backups and achieved using the Backup Exec Deduplication Cloning Technology. With these changes users, will see an improved performance gains in Consolidate Backup (close to 95%) in terms of backup time.
