Description

Error Message

None. The Saved Views\Filters will just not appear for selection.

Cause

Configuration settings for these View\Filters are stored in the registry, referencing that Backup Exec build version. When Backup Exec is upgraded, especially between major releases (i.e. BE 16, 20, 21, 22), the Registry branch is created afresh for that new version and therefore has none of the customized settings carried over.

Resolution

Please recreate the custom View\Filters in the new Backup Exec version, if they are not retained

There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. While this issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, it is not currently scheduled for any release.  If you feel this issue has a direct business impact for you and your continued use of the product, please contact your Veritas Sales representative or the Veritas Sales group to discuss these concerns.

Issue/Introduction

It is possible to define and save custom Views and Filters for Job and Job Histories, in the Job Monitor tab of Backup Exec. These are then available to be applied from the 'Sort and Filter' menu item. Following an upgrade of Backup Exec, these saved Views\Filters may not exist and will need to be recreated.
