Cause

If backup of outlook .pst file is interrupted during copy phase from DLO Agent to Network User Data Folder (NUDF) then these incomplete backups (.tmp) files are visible in storage location.

  • Network interruption.
  • DLO Agent machine abruptly shutting down.

This is issue is most commonly seen in case of a large .pst file backup on slow network connection to Network User Data Folder (NUDF).

Resolution

These .tmp files are automatically delete from NUDF during maintenance cycle by DLO Agent.

To avoid generation of new .tmp files:

1. Investigate and fix the network issues between DLO Agent and Network User Data folder (NUDF) storage.

2. Enable Delta File Transfer for PST backups:

2. Check the connection policy/network speed setting in DLO profile. Increase the bandwidth as backup of large PST backup may not complete quickly on a very low bandwidth.
