Cause

Backup Exec is unable to communicate with Virtual Disk Service (VDS).

Resolution

  • Stop all Backup Exec services.
  • Stop the Windows Virtual Disk Service (VDS) (VDS is on demand service and service Startup Type is set to Manual by default)
  • Start all Backup Exec services.
