Cause

It is not possible to restore data from the DLO Console for any user that has been removed from Active Directory.

Resolution

Use the Emergency Restore commandline utility to restore the user data.

Note: This will recover all data for that user, so please ensure the target location has enough free disk space.

  1. Open an Administrative "Command Prompt".
  2. Run the below commands. (See Figure 4)

cd "C:\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas DLO"

dlocommandu -emergencyrestore "\\\\- -w password -ap "C:\restore" -I

NOTE:
"\\\\-" is the NUDF path for the user. (To find the NUDF path, review the "User Properties" screen in the DLO Console, See Figure 3 below)
"password" is the EmergencyRestore password that was configured when DLO was installed.
"C:\restore" is the restore destination on the DLO server. Target this elsewhere on the server, if space is low.
