Backup Exec Deduplication can optionally encrypt the data path from the deduplication plugin to the disk storage. The data will be transferred and stored encrypted on the storage device.
Below are the encryption types and key sizes for each Backup Exec version.
- Backup Exec 16 implements Blowfish 256 bit encryption.
- Backup Exec 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 uses AES 256 bit encryption.
