The catalog job is not generated if the previous catalog job ran within 24 hours.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\\Symantec\Backup Exec for Windows\Backup Exec\Server

Value Type: DWORD
Value:
0 - Generate and run catalog job once a day (default)
1 - Generate and run catalog job every backup

Issue/Introduction
The catalog job may not be generated for a GRT (Granular Recovery Technology) enabled backup job. This can occur with an incremental backup job that runs after the full backup job.
Note: Since current Backup Exec versions support Instant-GRT, GRT catalog job is not required for restoring individual items and GRT catalog job is not generated by default.
For details about the Instant-GRT feature, see Backup Exec Administrator’s Guide.
