Note: This specific Issue was seen on a setup with HPE Library MSL 8096. It may be possible, that not all users run into this problem.
HPE support diagnosed the issue with lack of memory during the inventory operation.
HPE support disabled "Command View TL Configuration" to resolve the issue.
Contact HPE support for further guidance and support.
Workaround:
If library has bar code reader and tapes are bar coded, then run a scan of entire library. Running inventory of entire library may take hours to complete depending on the size of the library. Inventory can be performed on individual slot if needed.
