Note: pdde_config.log (Deduplication storage path\log folder ) is not created/updated in this situation. 

The old or earlier deduplication storage information in the Backup Exec Database may cause the import failure. 

Steps for Standalone Backup Exec Installation:

Before re-importing or configuring a fresh dedupe storage (on a setup which may have had dedupe storage configured before) ensure the device and pdde_configuration tables do not have any stale entries.

Note: A backup of the Backup Exec database is advised before making any changes to the database. 

Caution must be taken if this is seen on a CAS MBES setup, as in that configuration the CAS BEDB may show multiple dedupe device entries.
