Environment:
Veritas System Recovery installed on fresh UEFI Windows 2019 Version 1809 (OS build number 17763.107 or later) and on fresh UEFI Windows 10 October 2018 Update Version 1809 (OS build number 17763.107 or later).
Change in behavior – While defining backup job for C Drive, Veritas System Recovery does not include the Windows Recovery Partition by default.

Cause – In the newly installed Windows 2019 Version 1809 (operating system build number 17763.107 or later) and in Windows 10 October 2018 Update Version 1809 (operating system build number 17763.107 or later) the Windows Recovery Partition is empty and the Windows Recovery files are located in the C drive.

Impact – Veritas System Recovery during backup definition of C drive does not pick recovery partition automatically as it is empty, user may add this empty recovery partition manually while defining backup jobs. There is no impact on Veritas System Recovery functionality whether your defined backup job includes or excludes this empty recovery partition.
Veritas System Recovery installed on UEFI OS which was upgraded to Windows 10 October 2018 Update Version 1809 (operating system build number 17763.107 or later).
Change in behavior – After operating system Upgrade to Windows 10 October 2018 Update Version 1809 (operating system build number 17763.107 and above) if new partition is getting created then from Veritas System Recovery while defining backup job for the C Drive, Veritas System Recovery by default includes the newly created partition and while excluding the Windows Recovery Partition.

Cause – During the operating system upgrade, Windows moves the contents from old recovery partition (recovery partition of previous operating system version) to the newly created recovery partition. The old recovery partition becomes empty once the recovery files are moved to new partition.

Impact –
Note - This case is applicable only if new partition is created after the operating system upgrade.
Veritas System Recovery is installed on BIOS O, which is upgraded to a) Windows 10 October 2018 Update Version 1809 (operating system build number 17763.107 or later) from earlier released Windows 10 October 2018 Update operating system build Version 1809 (OS build number 17763.107 or earlier) or b) Windows 2019 Version 1809 (operating system build number 17763.107 or later) from earlier released Windows 2019 Version 1809 (operating system build number 17763.107 or earlier)
Issue – While defining backup job for C Drive, Veritas System Recovery does not include the newly created Windows recovery partition by default.

CASE 4
Veritas System Recovery installed on fresh x86 and x64 BIOS Windows 10 Version 2004 (operating system build number 19041.264 or later).
Issue- When you define a backup job for C Drive on Windows 10, version 2004 x86 and x64 BIOS machine, Veritas System Recovery does not include the newly created Windows recovery partition by default. Ensure that you select the recovery partition manually.
