SGMON log shows the following information showing creation of such files.
 
PVLSVR:  DeviceIo: beost: Info: Creating shadow file C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\345813 for file /_PhysicalLSU/BEOST_SMap_0000000000.img
PVLSVR:  DeviceIo: beost: Info: Creating shadow file C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\345814 for file /_PhysicalLSU/BEOST_00001096_0000000000.img

Cause

This issue is specific to Quantum OST Plug-in version 10.0.0 and is fixed in Plug-in version 10.0.2

 

Resolution

Update to Quantum OST Plug-in version 10.0.2 which contains the fix for this issue.
