Error Message

Unable to load configuration information.

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID (69C3E4B8-ACC2-41F0-85D6-403C53A9A38D) failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154(REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

Cause

The "Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool" is incorrectly unregistering VSR components.

Resolution

  1. Open command prompt as Administrator and change directories to the following location:

    “C:\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery\Agent\”
     
  2. Unregister VProSvc using below command

    # VProSvc.exe /unregserver
     
  3. Exit the command prompt
  4. Reboot the computer
  5. Run FixInstall.bat located in C:\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery\
  6. Open command prompt as Administrator and change directories to the following location:

    “C:\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery\Agent\”
     
  7. Register the VProSvc using below command.

    # VProSvc.exe /service
     
  8. Exit the command prompt
  9. Reboot the computer
