Cause

The virtual machine is in a locked state

Resolution

1.  Confirm the following Microsoft patch has been applied:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2964439/hyper-v-virtual-machine-backup-leaves-the-vm-in-a-locked-state

2.  Install the latest Hyper-V Integration components to the virtual machine

3.  Restart the virtual machine
