EC950006: The destination is not valid.

WORKAROUND

1.  On the "Drives to Recover" screen of Recover My Computer, select the C: drive in the list under "Select drives to recover" and click the "Edit..." button

2.  In "Select a target drive or unallocated space" section, select the partition the size of the original C: drive and then click "Delete Drive" to add it back to Unallocated space.

3.  Highlight the Unallocated area in the list created when clicking "Delete Drive" in step 2.  

4.  Put a check mark in the box "Resize drive after recover (unallocated space only). 
For "Size", subtract 112 MB the size of the original C: drive shown.  Put this new value in the "Size" box.  

Example:
Original C: shows a size of 953302 MB.  The "Size" under "Resize drive after recovery (unallocated spaced only)" should be changed to 953190 MB (953302 - 112)

5.  Click OK

6.  On "Drives to Recover" screen, select the Win RE Tools partition in the list of "Select drives to recover" and click the "Edit..." button

7.  Select the Unallocated space immediately after the C: partition and click OK

8.  Proceed with the restore.

The default MSR partition on a Windows 10 uEFI GPT system disk is 16 MB.  When restoring to a blank disk from the SRD, the GPT disk is being initialized with a MSR size of 128 MB.  If the destination disk is the same size as the source disk, this extra 112 MB used for the MSR partition is causing 112 MB less to be available on the remainder of the disk.  When an un-shrinkable partition was the last partition on the source disk (such as a Win RE Tools partition), there may not be enough space available on the destination disk and the restore setup may display the error: EC950006: The destination is not valid.

Note:  This issue is not seen if C: was the last partition on the system drive of the source computer.  In that case, C: is automatically shrunk by 112 MB so that it will fit on disk.

This issue has been resolved by Veritas System Recovery 18 Service Pack 3. After applying Service Pack 3, please create a new System Recovery Disk (SRD).
