Cause
The Tamper Protection setting in Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) prevents restore of SEP specific files and folders and ensures that no one can tamper with its files. This causes the restore job to fail.
Resolution
Perform the following steps:
1. Go to Symantec Endpoint Protection > Change Settings > Client Management.
2. Clear the Tamper Protection check box and run the system state restore job again.
