Cause

The key/value pair infrastructure between the Hyper-V host and the virtual machine may not function correctly without a Linux software update.

Resolution

Ensure that all OS-level updates have been applied to the virtual machine, including the latest key/value pair-related packages. Run the backup again after these updates have been applied.
