In this case there is no security descriptor assigned to the \\.pdvfs share.
In most cases, if BackupExec finds no security descriptor, the PVLSVR process assigns and stores one on the dedupe file system
Note: In Backup Exec 20.3 and above the Backup Exec Disk Lockdown featuer must be disabled first before proceeding.
Delete the file "\backupexecdeduplicationstoragefolder\databases\catalog\2\.pdvfs_dsid_tag\__dirpo__" and then restart all Backup Exec services including the Dedupe services. This will delete the SDO reference completely and Backup Exec will generate new references.
Browse the Active Directory restore selections for the newer Backups. The operation will now complete successful.
Note : If the remote server is using client-side dedupe, stop the PdvfsService service on the client and let the Backup Exec Job Engine service restart it during a restore. That would erase any cached information on the client, including a bad ACL fingerprint.
