Solution

 Veritas Update helps to keep Backup Exec updated with the latest Feature Packs and Hotfixes.

You may receive the error below when you open the Veritas update from Backup Exec console.

"A Problem occurred while checking for updates. Try again later".

This error is shown when Veritas update (vxupdate) is unable to connect to the update server to download patches. Ensure Backup Exec server has internet connectivity to download the updates.

 

1. Ensure that the update URL mentioned in the following registry key is accessible :
Ensure Veritas Update URL is reachable from the Backup Exec server using a Browser.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veritas\Backup Exec For Windows\Common\VxUpdate\2X.X\Settings
Value Name : Feed File URL

Example: https://update.veritas.com/be/24.0/BackupExecUpdates-24.0.xml

2. Logon to the Backup Exec server as the Backup Exec Service Account. Right click the Backup Exec shortcut icon and 'Run as Administrator'.

3. Make sure DigiCert Global Root G2 is installed on the Backup Exec server.Installing the trusted root certificate. Installing the trusted root certificate
