How to configure Deduplication Storage in Backup Exec

On Backup Exec Server,

1. Go to BE Button --> Installation and Licensing --> Install Options and Licenses on this Backup Exec Server       
2. Click Next on Licenses Wizard
3. Select Deduplication Option. Click next to Install the option.
4. Go to BE Storage Section
5. Click on Configure Storage --> Select Disk-based storage --> Select Deduplication Disk Storage

    Provide the name of the Deduplication Disk Storage
    Select the Drive to configure Dedupe Storage

Note:
- Use a dedicated disk to configure the Deduplication Storage.
- Create a dedupe account and password. The account needs to be only created in Backup exec logon accounts. It need not be a local or a domain user.
- Veritas strongly recommends to exclude the deduplication disk storage device from all antivirus scans.
- Windows Indexing should also be disabled on the drive where deduplication storage is configured.
