It is possible to create a bootable Veritas Recovery Disk onto a USB thumb drive without destroying the contents on the thumb drive. This recovery USB drive has the same functionality of the SRD on CD\DVD, including creating cold backups and restoring image files created with BESR 8.x, 2010.x and SSR 2011.x and above.
To perform this operation:









The USB drive can now be used to recover the computer. It is recommended that you test the drive by booting from it. To boot to a USB device, ensure that the system BIOS is set up to boot to USB devices and that the system can indeed boot to USB. Refer to your system documentation for this information.

Note: You cannot perform a delayed restore using a Veritas System Recovery Disk on USB drive if the recovery point(s) are stored on a network location.
