Description
If the emergency recovery password is not known, then it will be necessary to reset this before recovery is possible. The reset will apply to ALL users.
The steps for restore and emergency recovery are as follows:
- Log on to your DLO server and create a recovery folder e.g. D:\Recovery
- Open a command prompt and change to directory Install Path DLO
- Set a new recovery password with the command:
DLOCommandu -SetRecoveryPwd
- Recovery password reset will progress for all users. The message "\ ... recovery file successfully created." will be seen for all users whose passwords have been successfully reset
- Once all passwords have been reset, open the DLO console recovery tab and locate the user you wish to recover.
- Right click that user and select 'properties'. The Network User Data Folder path will be displayed.
- In the command prompt enter:
dlocommandu -emergencyrestore -w -ap -i
The -i parameter specifies that file permissions are not restored - if permissions are to be maintained, then omit -i parameter.
NOTE: If the user has been deleted from Active Directory or deleted from the DLO Console, running the "SetRecoverPwd" mentioned above will not update the Emergency Restore Password for the user. If the original password is not known, the data can not be restored.
