This issue occurs after updating to November 2016 Symantec Endpoint SEP client update(s).
Solution
Update Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) clients to Eraser Update 116.2.0.206 released 01/25/2017.
Once Eraser Engine 116.2.0.206 is installed, run a new Full Backup, followed by a differential or incremental.
The issue should no longer occur in future backups.
Veritas maintains strong relationships and continues to work closely with third parties to ensure their products are compatible with Backup Exec.
