Cause
The issue reproduces if SID of the backup source name for Oracle Instances is uppercase as follows.
Oracle Database "ORCL"
The backup source name with the uppercase SID is generated when browsing Oracle Instances in the Backup Selections dialog box before configuring information about the Oracle instances for the Oracle Agent with the Backup Exec Agent Utility.

Resolution
Veritas Technologies LLC has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) listed under the Product(s) Section of this article. Veritas Technologies LLC is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.
There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. This issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time. However, this particular issue is not currently scheduled for any release. If you feel this issue has a direct business impact for you and your continued use of the product, please contact your Veritas Sales representative or the Veritas Sales group to discuss these concerns. WORKAROUND:
1. On the Backup and Restore tab, remove the Oracle server
2. On the Backup and Restore tab, re-add the Oracle server
3. On the Oracle server, use the Backup Exec Agent Utility and check that information about the Oracle instances is configured
4. On the Backup Selections dialog box, browse Oracle Instances and check that SID of the backup source name is lowercase
e.g. Oracle Database "orcl"
