RMAN output shows error "RMAN-04004: error from recovery catalog database: ORA-00257: archiver error. Connect internal only, until freed."
Cause
This issue is caused because the Recovery Catalogs reported an error and are enabled under the Remote Agent Utility on the Oracle server.
Resolution
If the Recovery Catalogs are not to be used, follow the steps below. If you wish to use this option, contact Oracle support for further assistance, since the RMAN output is showing a potential problem in the Recovery Catalogs.
For Windows:
If the Recovery Catalogs are not to be used, open the Remote Agent Utility on the Oracle server and go to the "Oracle" tab. Disable the "Recovery Catalog" option, restart the Remote Agent service and retry the backup job.
For Linux:
Reconfigure the Remote Agent for Linux on the Oracle server and disable the Recovery Catalog option. For more information, refer Oracle Agent Configuration Options
